Though it usually takes a backseat to skiing, fishing the rivers of the Roaring Fork Valley during winter is still a favorite pastime. The boys at Taylor Creek Fly Shops have boasted a rainbow trout winter catch over 23 pounds! The local shops, like the Orvis-sanctioned Pomeroy Sports, stay open when the snow falls and provide equipment, fishing licenses, and guiding services. The Aspen Outfitting Company even offers a ski a half day, fish a half day program.
